Privacy & Google Calendar
Updated October 13, 2026
StudioSprout provides hosted websites, editing tools and booking management for independent studios. This notice describes the information used by the platform and its optional Google Calendar connection.
Studio and booking information
Studio accounts contain the owner’s business name, contact email, website content and account settings. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Booking records contain the contact and appointment details submitted by clients or entered by the studio. These records are used to manage requests, appointments and booking emails.
StudioSprout runs on Cloudflare. Configured booking and enquiry emails are sent through SMTP2GO. Website visitors’ email addresses and message details are shared with the relevant studio to answer enquiries or manage bookings. Uploaded photographs and website content are published when the studio chooses to publish them.
Optional Google Calendar connection
Connecting Google Calendar is optional. Google asks for permission before the connection is made. StudioSprout obtains the connected Google account’s email address and account identifier to identify the connection. It stores authorization tokens encrypted on the server so confirmed bookings can sync without requiring the owner to sign in to Google each time.
StudioSprout creates a separate StudioSprout Bookings calendar in the connected account. The calendar permission covers secondary calendars created by the app. The integration does not request access to personal calendars or read their appointments. It creates, updates and removes events for StudioSprout bookings in the connected booking calendar.
Events contain the client’s name, session type, confirmed start/end time, location and a booking reference. Client email addresses, phone numbers, private studio notes and client messages are not copied into these events. Google invitation emails are not sent by this integration. Existing StudioSprout booking emails remain separate.
Google processes the events under its own policies. Anyone the owner shares the booking calendar with may be able to see its events. Changes made in Google Calendar do not change StudioSprout bookings or website availability.
Use of Google information
Google account and calendar information is used to provide the visible account connection and appointment-sync features. It is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models. StudioSprout’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Storage and access
Studio data is kept in the studio’s account on Cloudflare. Session cookies are used to sign in. Short-lived connection cookies verify the Google authorization flow. Request information is used for security and rate limiting. Editor drafts and restore points can also be stored in the owner’s browser; downloaded backups are controlled by whoever downloads them.
Google credentials are stored separately from website files and are excluded from the website and operator backup ZIPs. Access is limited to running the integration. Support access to Google information is limited to the owner’s authorization, necessary security work, or legal requirements.
Disconnecting and deleting information
Use Settings → Google Calendar → Disconnect to stop syncing and remove the stored Google credentials. If Google cannot be reached, syncing stops and the interface asks you to retry credential removal. You can also remove StudioSprout’s access in your Google account connections.
The booking calendar and existing events stay in Google after disconnection; the owner can delete them in Google Calendar. StudioSprout retains the calendar identifier and connected account reference so reconnecting the same account can reuse the calendar. These references and the studio’s stored account records are removed when the StudioSprout account is deleted. Copies in downloaded backups, browsers, sent emails or Google Calendar must be removed separately by their holders.
